Boundary Layer Thickness

The airfoil surface is shown in black. The laminar flow region is so thin that it is not shown.

Turbulent flow is shown in blue and separated flow (if any) in red. When the Display Scale slider bar is in its default position, the boundary layer thickness is shown in its true scale. The maximum display is three times actual thickness.

The displayed results as a function of the angle of attack are a linear interpolation of the calculated values.

Calculated values along the surface may be examined by scrolling the cursor while holding down the left mouse button.
